PRTG Policies
These policies outline how Practical Readiness Training Group conducts training and what students can expect when enrolling in a course. They exist to protect students, instructors, partner facilities, and the integrity of the learning environment.
If you have questions about any policy, please contact us before registering.
- All registrations and payments are processed through ShootingClasses.com.
- Enrollment is confirmed once full payment is received.
- Students are responsible for providing accurate contact information.
- All participants must complete the required liability waiver prior to attending class.
- Students who have not completed the waiver before the start of training will not be permitted to participate.
Student Cancellation
- Cancel 14 or more days before class: Eligible for full refund.
- Cancel within 14 days of class: Refunds are not available.
After the 14-day refund window:
- A one-time transfer to a future class date is permitted.
- Transfer must be requested within 60 days of the original class date.
- The rescheduled class must be completed within one (1) year of the original class date.
Only one transfer is permitted per enrollment. Failure to attend the rescheduled class closes the enrollment and fees become non-refundable. No additional transfers are available.
No-shows are not eligible for refund or transfer.
If PRTG Cancels
Occasionally, classes must be canceled or rescheduled due to weather, facility issues, instructor illness, insufficient enrollment, or events beyond our control.
If this occurs, students will be transferred to a future class date. Refunds are not provided in this circumstance.
PRTG is not responsible for travel, lodging, ammunition, lost wages, or other incidental expenses.
Classes are conducted in most weather conditions unless safety is compromised. Decisions regarding weather-related cancellations are made with safety as the controlling standard.
Safety is non-negotiable.
Students are expected to:
- Follow all firearm safety rules at all times
- Follow instructor direction immediately
- Maintain muzzle and trigger discipline
- Conduct themselves in a sober, stable, and respectful manner
Unsafe or disruptive conduct may result in removal from training. In such cases, fees are not refundable.
Students are responsible for bringing required equipment in safe working condition.
PRTG reserves the right to inspect equipment and prohibit unsafe or unreliable gear.
The following equipment is not permitted:
- Sig Sauer P320 pistols or firearms utilizing the same P320 Fire Control Unit design
- Blackhawk SERPA holsters or holsters requiring trigger-finger pressure directly over the trigger area during the draw
These restrictions are based on documented safety and reliability concerns. Additional equipment restrictions may apply if safety concerns arise.
Mechanical failure of student-owned equipment does not qualify for a refund.
Students must be physically and mentally capable of safe participation.
Students are responsible for disclosing any medical conditions, physical limitations, or other health concerns that could affect safe participation in training. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Severe allergies requiring emergency medication (e.g., epinephrine auto-injectors)
- Cardiac conditions or history of heat-related illness
- Mobility limitations affecting balance or safe movement
- Conditions requiring immediate access to medication
Participants are responsible for bringing necessary medications, managing hydration, and preparing appropriately for outdoor physical activity.
If safety becomes a concern, instructors may modify, pause, or discontinue participation in the interest of protecting the student and others.
Students must be legally permitted to possess firearms under applicable law.
By enrolling, students affirm they are not prohibited from firearm possession and would be eligible to complete ATF Form 4473 truthfully.
PRTG does not assess citizenship or immigration status. Students are responsible for ensuring their participation complies with all applicable laws.
Training is provided for lawful civilian purposes only.
If legal misrepresentation is discovered, enrollment may be terminated, participation may be discontinued, and fees will not be refunded.
Firearms proficiency develops over time and requires consistent practice.
PRTG does not guarantee performance outcomes or state-issued license qualification.
For licenses such as Maryland Wear & Carry, qualification may require classroom instruction, knowledge assessment, and instructor evaluation of safe firearm operation.
Course completion certificates or endorsements are contingent upon meeting safety, conduct, and competency standards.
If additional development is needed, we will work with students to schedule further training, which may include private instruction.
Minors may participate only with:
- Parent or legal guardian consent
- Completed waiver documentation
- A parent or guardian physically present for the duration of training
Instructors may modify curriculum, adjust drills, or remove participants when safety or instructional integrity requires it. All safety-related decisions are made in the interest of protecting participants and preserving a disciplined training environment.
PRTG is not liable for cancellation or interruption of training caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, public health emergencies, or facility closures. In such cases, students will be transferred to a future class date.
Policies may be updated periodically. The version in effect at the time of registration governs that enrollment.
